Two more days...

YIKES! It is Saturday, August 16th. It is raining and cold ( 50*F). The mountains here in Colorado are even getting SNOW already! Rumor has it that this is the coolest, dryest (only 96% humidity!) weather we will see for the next year, so I guess I better enjoy it while I can! Here are some questions we have been asked:

Are we ready?: Yes and no. We are ready to start the journey to Vietnam, but we still have so much to do.

Are we packed?: Um, I will let the photo answer that.

What are we taking?: The photo might help with that, but we have our clothes, cameras, a weather station, computers, PDAs, plant press, gps units, spotting scope, tripod, leech socks...

Where will we live?: We will be living in Cat Tien National Park, in southern Vietnam. We will not be "roughing it" as much as others who have gone into the field before us. We will be staying in what is essentially a hotel room at the park headquarters. I have never been here so I don't know for sure, but I will update you as I learn more about what it is we are doing!

What will you be doing?: My husband, Jonathan (pictured above) is doing his dissertation research on a monkey called the Black-shanked Douc. To find out more, check out the following sites:
